Looking for great Salon...How can you tell the difference between a good haricut and a great one?

I’ve been to lots of salons and can’t seem to find a perfect haircut.  How do I tell the difference between a really great haircut and one that is just ordinary?

its simple

I make sure that for every client that sits in my chair, I talk them through everything. I talk them through the whole haircut, I put the liquid tools in their hands, I give them the blow dryer to work with. I find that by doing this they can see how easy it is to maintain the great haircut I gave them, and if they have any questions I'm right there with them to help them through it. I myself have not believed in a good haircut versus a great haircut, because if you are committed to your profession, there should never be just a good haircut!!! Just be the best damn hairstylist out there!!!

the single best investment you can ever make is in your education!

one that works for you

The difference between a "good haircut" and a "great haircut " could be how much time you have to mess with your hair when you fix it yourself or how long the haircut will last for you. I would say the best haircut would take the least time for you to redo yourself and last till your next appointment. But remember the haircut must be supported with good product and good tools for you to reproduce at home. Be honest with your stylist about how much time you are willing to spend on your hair at home each day. and how what products you are going to use when you style it yourself.
When you go to the salon, sometimes it helps to have ideas of what you want for your cut maybe even some pictures to start with some sort of reference point of what you want. Your stylist should help you decide what will be best for your face shape and lifestyle.

It Shouldn't be a Struggle...

If you are still running home from the salon in order to re-wash and style your hair only to have it be a struggle then you are probably still getting an ordinary haircut. A great haircut will "hold" the style in its shape. It should be easy to work with on your own and you should not have to struggle with it every morning. Look around on the streets and in the stores, pay attention to who has hair that makes you take notice, then stop and ask them where they go and who they see!  You will make someone feel great and also get some valuable information about where you might find that "Great" haircut

4 Things...

one:  the stylist did a thorough consultation explaining options making suggestions, explaining your hair limitations and listening to your desires two:  a quality haircut cannot be rushed so please make sure adequate time is given.  I personally like to completely blowdry finish a haircut and make haircut adjustments on dry hair.  I personally feel you do not really know how the hair is going to respond unless it is styled accordingly. three:  Make sure your stylist explains thoroughly how to syle  your hair along with the proper tools (tools: brush, blowdryer, clips, hairproduct, shampoo etc)  to use at home to maintain your look four:  You should be able to recreate the look at home, if not feel free to ask for a complimentary styling lesson.  A quality salon wants their guest to  be confident with their look
